In the late hours of April 17, 2023, in the area of West 14th Avenue and Meade Street in Denver, 18-year-old Richard “Richie” Lovato, a male, was fatally shot. Responding officers found Lovato with a gunshot wound, and he was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. At the time of his death, Lovato was a father to a young son.
