In the summer of 2023, the life of Russel Edward Kuklies, a 40-year-old male, was tragically cut short in Pueblo, Colorado. On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, Kuklies was killed in what was determined to be a homicide resulting from gun violence. The incident prompted an investigation by the Pueblo Police Department, which has been actively seeking information from the public to bring those responsible to justice.
Originally from Freeport, Texas, where he was born on June 8, 1983, Kuklies had
made a life for himself in Pueblo with his partner, Takima Saint Pierre, and their two sons. He was known as a talented sous chef, having worked for many years at the Windswept Seafood Restaurant. His passions extended beyond the kitchen to include skateboarding, karate, woodworking, and a love for football and baseball, particularly as an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was remembered for the adventurous spirit he shared with his beloved sons and the time he cherished with his family.
In the wake of his death, authorities have been searching for answers. The Pueblo Police Department has released a surveillance photograph of two men they believe may be connected to the fatal shooting. The blurry image was captured outside the Val U Stay off North Hudson Avenue, where investigators believe Kuklies was killed. While these individuals have been identified as suspects, no arrests have been made in the ongoing homicide investigation.
The loss of Russel Edward Kuklies has been deeply felt by his extensive network of family and friends. He is survived by his partner, their two sons, his parents, and siblings. His family has requested that any donations in his memory be made to a GoFundMe account set up for his partner or to a charity of one's choice. A memorial graveside service was held to honor his memory on October 20, 2023, at White Rock Cemetery in Ross, Texas.
