Danzel D. Atkins, a 31-year-old male, was looking forward to a break when he traveled to Denver for a vacation. On the evening of August 16, 2023, he posted on Facebook about how good it felt to finally be on vacation. Tragically, only five hours later, his life was cut short. In the early morning hours of August 17, at approximately 1:10 a.m., Denver Police responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of Welton Street.
