On July 24, 2021, a tragic double homicide occurred at an apartment located at 4955 East Donald Avenue in Denver, Colorado. The victims were identified as Elwood Johnson, 34, and Taryn Meyer, 38. The apartment was known to be a transient location where multiple people would stay, and it was indicated that the victims and the suspect knew each other.
