In the early morning hours of September 21, 2023, a dispute in Denver's City Park West neighborhood turned deadly, claiming the life of 42-year-old Kenneth Ray Watkins Jr. Watkins, a Black/African American male, was in the 1100 block of East 16th Avenue when an altercation occurred involving himself, a woman, and another man later identified as Jeremiah Brown. The confrontation escalated, resulting in gunfire.
