In the early hours of New Year's Eve 2023, a life that had been marked by both turmoil and a recent turn towards redemption was tragically cut short on the east side of Pueblo, Colorado. Daniel Ernesto Smith, a 40-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot in the 1300 block of East 14th Street.
