Upon arrival, officers discovered David suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by the Littleton Police Department and subsequent transportation to a local hospital by South Metro Fire Rescue, David succumbed to his injuries.
David, who was born on November 17, 2005, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was remembered as a loving son and brother who saw beauty in everything. An active member of his church, he was known for his willingness to volunteer and serve others. He found joy in the outdoors, often spending his time mountain biking, running, and hiking.

Authorities have identified a vehicle of interest, a dark-colored Acura TL sedan from the model years 2009-2014, which is believed to be connected to the incident.
