In the quiet early morning hours of April 26, 2019, the life of 58-year-old Willie Carr was brought to a violent and tragic end inside his own home. An intruder, later identified as John Tyler Blue, forced his way into the residence, shattering the peace of the sleeping household. The armed man confronted Carr, demanding money from a recent auto accident settlement.
Despite the immediate and grave danger he faced, Carr refused to disclose the location of the cash. In a brutal response to this refusal, Blue fired his weapon, striking Carr. Even after being shot, Carr maintained his silence about the money. This led to a second, fatal gunshot. The assailant then fled the scene, leaving a scene of devastation behind. An autopsy would later reveal that Carr sustained gunshot wounds to his right forearm and chest, in addition to injuries to his head.
