On January 24, 2022, a tragic incident unfolded at the Trails End Motel located at 9025 W. Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado. Angel Santibanez, a 29-year-old man from Denver, was fatally shot in the head at point-blank range just before noon in room 16 of the motel. He was subsequently pronounced dead at St. Anthony Hospital.
