On April 7, 1982, a tragic event unfolded at Deer Creek Junior High School in Littleton, Colorado, resulting in the death of 13-year-old Scott Darwin Michael. Scott and his friend, Jon Kleinhans, were on the east side of the school during lunch break, a time when the school had a year-round track schedule and students were often out of their regular classrooms.
