On the night of May 16, 2024, a violent altercation inside a Colorado Springs apartment escalated into a fatal shooting, claiming the life of 19-year-old Elijah Espinoza. The incident, which unfolded at the Stone Canyon Apartments near East Platte Avenue and North Murray Boulevard, also resulted in the death of 23-year-old Ramon Ruacho and left a third individual with serious, though not life-threatening, injuries.
