In a quiet Little Rock, Arkansas neighborhood, a tragedy unfolded on June 23, 2023, ending the life of 60-year-old James Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton, a White male, was discovered deceased inside a home at 4800 Greenfield Drive following a house fire. The flames that engulfed the residence led to a grim discovery for the Little Rock Fire Department, who, after extinguishing the blaze, found four individuals within the charred remains of the house.
Upon investigation, it was determined that
James Hamilton had not perished in the fire but had died from a gunshot wound. Alongside him were the bodies of two other family members, 37-year-old Thomas Hamilton and 33-year-old Kyleigh Hamilton, who had also been fatally shot. The circumstances pointed to a violent and tragic event that had occurred within the home, separate from the fire that had ravaged it. The bodies were subsequently transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsies to confirm their identities and causes of death.
The investigation into the four deaths concluded that James, Thomas, and Kyleigh Hamilton were victims of a triple murder-suicide. The fourth individual found at the scene, 37-year-old Alexander Hamilton, was identified as the suspect. Authorities determined that Alexander Hamilton had shot and killed the three members of his family before turning the gun on himself. His death was officially ruled a suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. With the primary suspect deceased, the case of James Hamilton's murder was considered solved by law enforcement.
