Summary based on 10 sources
In the late morning hours of a summer day in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 30-year-old Ryan Wear was found inside his vehicle near a local shopping center, suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. The discovery on August 12, 2023, prompted a swift response from emergency services, who transported him to a nearby hospital. Despite medical efforts, Wear succumbed to his injuries, turning a violent assault into a homicide investigation.

In the days that followed, the Pine Bluff Police Department worked to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. Their investigation led them to identify four individuals believed to be involved in Wear's death. One of the suspects, 22-year-old Julius Ford, became the focus of a search that extended beyond the city limits.

Investigators tracked Ford to the nearby city of Arkadelphia, where they believed he was hiding with a relative. On August 15, 2023, with the assistance of the Arkadelphia Police Department, authorities located Ford. He was taken into custody without incident and was subsequently extradited to Jefferson County to face a charge of capital murder in connection with the death of Ryan Wear. While it has been stated that three other suspects were also implicated in the crime, their identities and the details of their alleged involvement have not been publicly disclosed. The motive behind the shooting also remains unrevealed as the investigation continues.
