Kendrick Antwan Roquemore, a 38-year-old resident of Bivins, Texas, died on September 30, 2023, as a result of a shooting that occurred the previous night in Texarkana, Arkansas. The incident took place in the 1500 block of E 15th Street on Friday, September 29, 2023.
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is investigating the shooting, which is believed to have been domestic in nature.
A 17-year-old teenager, who is thought to be the boyfriend of the victim's mother, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting.
The teenager was initially released on a $250,000 bond for the first-degree murder charge. However, on October 2, 2024, he was arrested again by the Arkansas State Police after a high-speed car chase. The chase began near Garland and Jefferson Avenues in Texarkana and continued on Interstate 30, where the suspect reached speeds of around 95 miles per hour before losing control of the vehicle and flipping it while attempting to pass another driver in the median.
Following the accident, the teenager was treated and released from Christus St. Michael Healthcare and then transported to a juvenile detention facility in Pine Bluff. On October 3, 2024, Miller County Circuit Judge Carlton Jones revoked the original bond and set a new $250,000 bond for the additional charges of theft and fleeing.
Kendrick Antwan Roquemore was born on November 15, 1984, at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas.
