In the winter of 2024, the life of 32-year-old Joe Newmy Jr. was tragically cut short in his hometown of Blytheville, Arkansas. On the evening of January 14th, a violent encounter inside a residence on Dugan Street would prove fatal for the young man. Gunshots shattered the quiet of the neighborhood, and when authorities arrived, they found Newmy suffering from a serious gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a suspect, a 42-year-old woman named Tiffany Harris. In a surprising turn of events, Harris voluntarily surrendered to the Blytheville Police Department, turning herself in to face the consequences of her actions. Her arrest brought a swift, though somber, development to the case that had shaken the local community.
The legal proceedings that followed culminated in Tiffany Harris pleading guilty to a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of Joe Newmy Jr. As a result of her plea, a second charge of possession of a firearm by certain persons was not pursued by the prosecution.
