Anetone Simanu, a 35-year-old resident of West Jordan, Utah, was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday, September 3, 2023, in Salt Lake City. The incident occurred in a parking lot located at 128 West 300 South, near Pierpont Avenue in the downtown area.

The shooting resulted from a random fight that broke out in the parking lot. Simanu was shot during this altercation, leading to his death.
