On October 7, 2024, a fatal road rage incident occurred on eastbound SR-201 in Salt Lake County, Utah. The incident involved a road rage altercation between a black truck driven by 50-year-old Jose R. Ramirez and a gray SUV driven by 44-year-old Thomas Jim Long. The altercation began when Ramirez's truck appeared to cut off Long's SUV, as captured by a dash camera, leading to both drivers becoming aggressive.
