On July 4, 2024, at approximately 3:19 a.m., the Taylor County 911 Communication Center received several calls reporting a shooting on Broadway Street in Clearfield, Iowa, specifically outside Bootleggers Bar and Grill. Upon arrival, deputies found Colby D. Nelson, a 19-year-old from Lenox, Iowa, unresponsive with a gunshot wound.
