In the early morning hours of December 5, 2022, the sound of gunshots pierced the quiet of a Davenport, Iowa neighborhood. At approximately 5:07 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1500 block of West 16th Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of a man who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The victim was later identified as Justin Michael Royer, a 40-year-old Caucasian male from Peoria, Illinois.
