In the early morning hours of May 29, 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace in the 700 block of West 1st Street in Waterloo, Iowa, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. Anthony Jacobs, a 27-year-old Black / African American male, was fatally wounded in the incident, which unfolded at approximately 2:31 a.m. Responding to multiple reports of shots fired, Waterloo police officers arrived at a chaotic scene where they discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
