In the quiet predawn hours of August 18, 2019, a burst of violence shattered the peace of a Glendale, Arizona neighborhood, claiming the lives of two brothers. Albert Anthony Gonzalez, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, and his brother, Juan Rudy Gomez, aged 28, were fatally shot as they slept inside a residence near 63rd and Maryland avenues. The incident, which was reported to authorities around 5:30 a.m., left a family and community reeling in shock and grief.
