On a September evening in 2016, a man named Robert Granado was fatally shot outside a residence in Glendale, Arizona. Granado, a 31-year-old male, reportedly heard a disturbance at a neighboring house and went to investigate the commotion. His attempt to intervene in the escalating situation ultimately cost him his life.
The events leading up to the shooting involved two men who were reportedly confronting the occupants of the nearby home.
These individuals were armed, and their aggressive actions created the disturbance that drew Robert Granado's attention. When Granado approached, he was shot by one of the men. The suspects then fled the scene, leaving Granado with fatal injuries.
Two months after the fatal shooting, Glendale police made arrests in the case. Law enforcement officials took 24-year-old John Anguiano and 25-year-old Angelo Mungia into custody on November 17, 2016. Both men were subsequently charged with first-degree murder for their involvement in the death of Robert Granado. During the investigation, one of the suspects, John Anguiano, admitted to having shot Granado.
