He was also a published author and held a Blue Belt in Jiu-Jitsu.
The investigation into David's murder led to a significant development within days. An 18-year-old, Maurice Diaz-Casales, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. Diaz-Casales was initially taken into custody after a police pursuit involving the victim's four-door sedan. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in the death of David Scott Anderson, bringing a measure of resolution to a case that had cut short a promising life filled with intellectual curiosity and a dedication to helping others.
