In the late summer of 2014, a profound tragedy struck the community of San Tan Valley, Arizona, with the death of 11-year-old Samuel Epps. The young boy, known as 'Sammy' to his loved ones, passed away on September 2, 2014. Investigations into his death revealed that Samuel died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Reports from the time indicate the incident occurred at his family's home.
