On the evening of June 17, 2016, Phoenix police responded to reports of gunfire near 28th Street and Broadway Road in south Phoenix. Upon arrival around 9:45 p.m., officers discovered the body of 20-year-old Allen Prince Jr., who had succumbed to a gunshot wound.
