In the pre-dawn hours of October 15, 2015, the quiet of a Phoenix, Arizona street was broken by the discovery of a body. Lying in the roadway near 32nd Street and Pinchot Avenue was a man who had suffered a fatal injury. Authorities arrived at approximately 4:30 a.m. and pronounced him dead at the scene. The man was later identified as 36-year-old Apollo DeGeorge Branham, an African-American male.
The initial investigation by Phoenix police revealed that Branham had been shot and killed.
