On a tragic autumn evening in Tucson, Arizona, the lives of 18-year-old Jackelyne Padilla and 48-year-old Carlos Rendon were cut short in a violent encounter that would leave a community in shock. On October 15, 2016, the Pima County Sheriff's Department received a call about an unknown problem at a residence in the 5800 block of South Swinging A. What they discovered upon arrival was a grim scene: both Padilla and Rendon were found deceased, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
