In the fall of 2016, a violent encounter in Phoenix, Arizona, claimed the life of Israel Espino, a 42-year-old man. The incident, which unfolded on November 4, 2016, also left another individual, Espino's 20-year-old nephew, Jose Sanchez Hernandez, wounded. Both men were discovered with gunshot wounds.
Following the double shooting, law enforcement officials began their investigation to identify and apprehend the person responsible.
The search for the suspect concluded when an individual voluntarily surrendered to the police. This person was subsequently charged with one count of first-degree murder for the death of Israel Espino and one count of attempted murder for the shooting of Jose Sanchez Hernandez.
