Martha Sorenson, aged 75, and her husband Robert Sorenson, aged 81, were found deceased in their home in Sanders, Arizona, on July 1, 2017. The couple died from gunshot wounds, as determined by the Apache County Sheriff's Office during their investigation.

The discovery of the bodies was made after family members expressed concern and requested a welfare check at the Sorensens' residence. Deputies responded to the call and found the elderly couple inside their home.
