In the autumn of 2017, a wave of violence shattered the community of Casa Grande, Arizona, culminating in the tragic death of Jose Martin Aguilera. On October 5, 2017, the 27-year-old man's life was cut short when he became a victim in a quadruple homicide. The fatal incident, which involved gun violence, also claimed the lives of three other individuals: 32-year-old Justin Allen Yates, 31-year-old Connie Carrera, and 29-year-old Crysta M.
Proctor.
The investigation into the four deaths quickly led law enforcement to identify and apprehend two suspects. Alec Javier Perez, who was 31 at the time, and 22-year-old Rodney Ortiz Jr. were taken into custody and subsequently faced four counts of first-degree murder. The motive for this devastating act of violence appeared to be rooted in a domestic dispute, as it was revealed that one of the victims, Crysta Proctor, was the estranged wife of the suspect, Alec Perez. The case was then handed over to the Pinal County Attorney's Office for review and prosecution.
