In the early hours of a Wednesday in Phoenix, Arizona, a life was tragically cut short. Michael Green, a 29-year-old Black / African American man, was shot and killed on November 8, 2017. The incident that led to his death began as a dispute in a parking lot.
Green was arguing with a 32-year-old woman with whom he shared a child. As the argument unfolded, another man became involved. This man, identified as 45-year-old Michael David Napier, was reportedly living with Green's mother.
During the course of the confrontation, Napier is alleged to have shot both Green and the woman.
Tragically, Michael Green succumbed to his injuries. The woman he was with sustained a non-life-threatening injury. Following the shooting, Phoenix police detained Napier. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting.
