In El Mirage, Arizona, on a Thursday night in April 2018, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of 17-year-old Raymond Vargas. That evening, Raymond was driving with four other teenagers, aged 16 to 19, when their vehicle was targeted by gunfire. The hail of bullets resulted in Raymond being struck in the chest, while another passenger sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.
