Sumi Gail Juan, a 32-year-old Native American woman and member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, was last seen in early October 2010 near Hoopa Elementary School in Hoopa, California. She was reported missing on October 29, 2010, after not being seen by her family for weeks. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as being 5'10", weighing 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Sumi also had a birthmark on the back of her left calf and was known to wear eyeglasses.
