In the early morning hours of December 20, 2019, David Morales, a 23-year-old Hispanic male from Phoenix, Arizona, was found fatally shot outside an apartment complex along East McDowell Road. Authorities place the scene at roughly 3:23 a.m. in the area of 2433 East McDowell Road, a multi-building complex just east of downtown, where officers and emergency crews responded and located him unresponsive in the parking lot.
