On June 5, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex on West Indian School Road. Inside one of the units, they discovered Russell lying on the floor with apparent gunshot wounds.
Despite the quick arrival of paramedics, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The tragic event unfolded while Russell was reportedly streaming on Facebook Live, a detail that added a layer of shock and public visibility to the harrowing incident. The video captured the sounds of the gunshots, leaving a digital echo of his final moments.
