On a Tuesday morning in Phoenix, Arizona, the life of 30-year-old Disean Russell, a Black male, was cut short in a sudden act of violence. On June 5, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex on West Indian School Road. Inside one of the units, they discovered Russell lying on the floor with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite the quick arrival of paramedics, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
