In the early evening of Tuesday, October 8, 2019, a dispute between two men at the corner of 19th and Glendale Avenues in Phoenix escalated into a fatal encounter. During the altercation, 28-year-old Chad Harris was shot. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Harris was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Chad Harris succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The male suspect involved in the confrontation fled the scene on foot immediately after the shooting. Phoenix police initiated a search for the individual, but he was not immediately apprehended.
Detectives from the Phoenix Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau began an investigation into the homicide. At the time, authorities had very little information to go on regarding the suspect's identity and whereabouts. Law enforcement officials appealed to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person responsible for Chad Harris's death.
