In the winter of 2020, a shooting shattered the evening quiet at a Phoenix apartment complex, leaving a 65-year-old man, Isaack Drain, fatally wounded. On the evening of Wednesday, February 5th, Phoenix police were called to a residence near 1700 W. Glendale Ave. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Mr. Drain with a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the death of Isaack Drain quickly focused on a suspect. In the days following the shooting, Phoenix police developed probable cause to arrest 48-year-old Rene D. Perkins in connection with the homicide. On the morning of Tuesday, February 11th, officers located and apprehended Perkins near 4300 N. Longview Ave. She was taken into custody for her alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend, Isaack Drain.
