Born on October 6, 1981, Leanne was known for her immense heart and her unwavering love for her family and friends. She was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Saiya and Makayla. Her family remembers her as a strong, funny, and beautiful person who was never afraid to speak her mind.
An animal lover at heart, she always had a dog by her side and had a passion for horses, which led her to join 4-H in her youth. After graduating from high school in Oregon, she embarked on an adventure that eventually led her to settle in Arizona. Just six months before her death, she had plans to pursue a degree in counseling, a testament to her desire to help others.
On the evening of April 29, 2020, Leanne's life was taken in what her family described as a senseless act of violence. She fell victim to a crime spree that Phoenix police reported involved four men who were allegedly driving around the city with the intention of robbing and shooting people they believed to be homeless. Leanne was shot and killed in this string of violent attacks.
Following an investigation into the deadly crime spree, authorities made arrests. Four suspects were taken into custody in connection with the series of shootings that terrorized the community. According to police reports, the individuals involved were identified as three brothers, Maverick, Albert, and Izaeyah Magnificent, along with their associate, a 17-year-old whose name was not released due to his age. Investigators determined that the group was actively targeting individuals they perceived to be homeless. The senseless violence of that night left a void in the lives of Leanne's family and friends, who continue to remember her for the love and light she brought into the world.
