In the late hours of a Monday evening in Phoenix, Arizona, tragedy befell Roberto Juan Taylor-Vargas, a 32-year-old Hispanic man. On October 18, 2021, at approximately 11:30 p.m., police were called to the area of 35th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue in response to a shooting. There, they discovered Taylor-Vargas suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency services transported him to a local hospital in extremely critical condition, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced
deceased. The Phoenix Police Department's investigation into the homicide led to the swift apprehension of a suspect at the scene of the crime.
A 17-year-old male was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. The teenage suspect, whose name was not publicly released, was subsequently booked into the Juvenile Correctional Center on a single charge of murder.
