On the morning of November 13, 2021, in Phoenix, Arizona, a man by the name of Antonio Riggins, age 28, was shot and killed. The incident, which took place around 5:37 a.m. near 49th Avenue and Baseline Road, was preceded by an altercation. When Phoenix Police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Riggins with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting led officers to a suspect, 25-year-old Wayman Thomas, who was located and
detained shortly after the incident. Homicide detectives were able to secure surveillance footage of the event, which provided them with enough probable cause to arrest Mr. Thomas for the murder of Antonio Riggins. Wayman Thomas was subsequently booked into jail.
