In the early morning hours of May 14, 2022, a verbal dispute in south Phoenix tragically escalated, claiming the life of 28-year-old Paul Tellez Jr. The incident occurred near 40th Street and Southern Avenue, where Phoenix police officers responded to a shooting call just before 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Tellez suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
