In the early morning hours of July 23, 2022, the life of Cody Seth Hinsley, a 27-year-old Caucasian male, was cut tragically short in Tucson, Arizona. Just after 3:00 a.m., Tucson Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to an apartment complex located at 4100 E. 29th Street following numerous reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival at the midtown location, they discovered Hinsley unresponsive in the parking lot, suffering from gunshot trauma.
Despite immediate life-saving
efforts performed by the officers and subsequently by members of the Tucson Fire Department, Cody Seth Hinsley was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide detectives were called in to take over the investigation. Through interviews with witnesses, they began to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting, learning that Hinsley had been involved in an ongoing disagreement with a group of individuals prior to the incident.
As the investigation progressed, detectives were able to identify a suspect in the shooting. They named 29-year-old Kristoffer David Seeger as the individual responsible for Hinsley's death. Authorities described Seeger as being 5'9' tall, weighing 160 pounds, and having numerous distinctive tattoos on his neck and face. The Tucson Police Department issued a public alert, asking for anyone with information regarding Seeger's whereabouts to contact 9-1-1 immediately as the search for him was actively underway.
