Elijah Miranda, a 25-year-old male, was tragically killed on August 25, 2022, in a violent shooting incident that unfolded in Tucson, Arizona. He was visiting a friend's home at the Lind Commons apartments when the event occurred. His life was cut short when he encountered a neighbor of his friend, who had reportedly been making threats for several months prior to the fatal confrontation.
The man identified as the shooter was 24-year-old Gavin Lee Stansell.
On that Thursday, Stansell was being served an eviction notice by Constable Deborah Martinez-Garibay. Angela Heath-Fox, an employee of the apartment complex, was also present. In a sudden burst of violence, Stansell opened fire, killing all three individuals, including Elijah Miranda who was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
After carrying out the deadly rampage, Gavin Lee Stansell then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life. The incident was later described by authorities as a triple murder-suicide. Friends of Elijah Miranda were left to mourn the sudden and senseless loss of their loved one, recalling the ongoing tensions with Stansell that had preceded the tragic event.
