In the summer of 2022, a tragedy unfolded in a Tucson, Arizona, apartment complex that cut short the life of Angela Heath-Fox. On August 25th, the 28-year-old woman was fatally shot in what authorities would later describe as a violent and senseless act. The incident, which took place at the Lind Commons apartments, was not an isolated act of violence but the tragic culmination of an eviction process.
On that Thursday morning, Pima County Constable Deborah Martinez-Garibay was serving an
eviction notice at an apartment where Angela Heath-Fox was present. It was during this lawful process that a man inside the apartment, Gavin Lee Stansell, opened fire. The sudden eruption of gunfire resulted in the deaths of both Angela Heath-Fox and Constable Martinez-Garibay. Another individual, Elijah Miranda, was also killed in the rampage.
The investigation into the horrific event quickly revealed a grim picture. Law enforcement officials determined that after killing the three individuals, the suspect, Gavin Lee Stansell, then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life.
