On February 11, 2023, Winston Shieh, a 68-year-old man from Phoenix, Arizona, was fatally shot in the Historic Grand Avenue district. The incident occurred near 15th Avenue and Garfield Street, where police responded to a call of a shooting just after 10:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found Shieh suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
