On a Friday evening in Phoenix, Arizona, a young life was tragically cut short in a city park. Seventeen-year-old Henry Almeida-Garcia, a male, was with a group of friends on May 12, 2023, when the ordinary evening took a devastating turn. An unknown individual confronted the group, and the encounter escalated to gunfire.
The shots shattered the evening calm, and in the aftermath, Henry was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency services were called to the park, located near 16th Street and Wescott Drive, just before 9 p.m. Paramedics arrived and quickly transported the wounded teenager to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Henry Almeida-Garcia succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
