In the quiet of a Sunday night in Phoenix, Arizona, a family's sense of peace was irrevocably shattered. On February 18, 2018, 34-year-old Allen Saka, a husband and father of two, was fatally shot in the driveway of his home near 51st Avenue and Thunderbird Road. Saka, an Iraqi man who had moved his family to the United States five years prior in search of a safer life, was alerted by a suspicious noise outside his residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. and went to investigate.
