Jordin Miranda Castillo, a 20-year-old woman, was in her Glendale, Arizona, apartment on the afternoon of June 4, 2023, with several friends and her two-year-old daughter. The father of her child, 22-year-old Rueben Xavier Rocha, with whom she had a history of domestic violence, approached the third-floor apartment. Castillo had previously obtained an order of protection against Rocha in April of that year.
