In the afternoon hours of September 23, 2023, the life of Luis Javier Ponce Munoz, a 37-year-old Hispanic man, was tragically cut short in west Phoenix. The incident unfolded around 3:45 p.m. near 46th Avenue and Thomas Road. When Phoenix police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Munoz suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the immediate response, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced deceased at the location.
