In the evening hours of October 22, 2023, a life was tragically cut short in west Phoenix. Sixteen-year-old Daniel Angel Chavarria, a Hispanic male, was in the area of 57th Avenue and Hazelwood Street when violence erupted. Phoenix police officers received reports of a shooting and arrived at the scene around 7:20 p.m. to find the young man with multiple gunshot wounds.
